The application lists service from Boone to Waterloo via Marshalltown Tecoma LeGrand and other towns. The plan notes potential benefits but current start date remains unclear and the project is unfinished.
Mrs. Robert J. White dies at Burbank hospital after six weeks illness. She supported Owensmouth Community church Women Missionary Society and was beloved by family including daughters Anna Laura White Harriet Macy and a son John H. White. Funeral services set for 2:00 PM Friday June 6 at White and Emerson parlors with memorials in Whittier relatives nearby.

Oliver Rosdale reports Dorthea Francis of New York City visiting. hiking across the continent, three months into a six-month trek. shared stories at Rosdale home. She plans to continue journey another three months after April 1 start. joined Rosdale family for dinner.

The last accounts describe a man found dead in the Arizona desert near Buckeye thirty miles west of Phoenix on June 26. Officials said the description matched Rev. Thomas Howard the Minnesota minister missing since June 7. Found by a local minister and his companion, the body showed he slept by a campfire and rolled into it. Howard had wandered from relatives in Tucson, with Buckeye 160 miles west. Efforts to locate him have failed as posses search the Tucson area. Earl Howard, his son, returned to Wheaton Minnesota after aiding the search.
Dr and Mrs Ernest Manning announce the marriage of their daughter Marian to Mr Cee Reed Durland on June 1930 in Chicago. The wedding was held at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church. Marian, of LeGrand, is a LeGrand High School graduate who studied at Penn College and has worked seven years in the Iowa State Highway Commission at Ames. Durland, a Town State College engineering graduate of 1923, has been with Bullesby Engineering in Chicago. After a honeymoon through Wisconsin Minnesota and the Dakotas the couple will reside in Chicago.

Christian Endeavor at 7:00 p.m. led by Cloris Ludwig on Joys and Dangers Away From Home based on Genesis 28 19 to 22. Evening service at 8:00 p.m. Prayer Circle Wednesday 5 30 p.m. followed by church business meeting at 8:00. Mission Circle met at the church for June, led by Mrs Ray Hilsabeck. attendance good and refreshments served.
Trinity Lutheran Church Dillon says no services next Sunday. Members are invited to the annual Missions Day of Redeemer congregation Marshalltown. Services occur in Riverview Park with Pastors Schliepsick and Boehm as speakers. Marshalltown ladies will serve a free lunch at noon. On July 10 the local Ladies Aid hosts Marshalltown Ladies Aid at Mrs Alfred Harem's home with Mrs Harem and Mrs F Gummert as joint hostesses.

Thirty seven county farm bureau organizations will join in a statewide farm exhibit at the 1930 Iowa State Fair August 20 to 29. Counties will have sections. the event is sponsored by the state fair board Iowa Farm Bureau Federation and Iowa State College. Women and men will showcase projects from swine disease control to home management and nutrition. Nomination blanks are available for the champion farm woman of Iowa with district winners to be honored at the fair.
Max Radloff says he clearly saw the Southern Cross pass over his farm around 10:30 Thursday forenoon. He describes a large tri motor plane with UN USD markings on the underside, suggesting it did not follow its planned mail plane route over Iowa, Iowa City, and Des Moines.
The Reporter notes multiple curious finds at the south quarry including an elk antler in Davidson creek and a large slab carved with natural shapes resembling ferns or trees. A smaller slab shows glacial plainings and planed surfaces, both exhibited as intriguing specimens of nature's painting.
