Reunion at the Cutler home in LeGrand Iowa

Mr and Mrs J W Gregg of Elgin Oklahoma and Mrs T D Moore of Buffalo Iowa visited their mother Mrs Willis Cutler in LeGrand last Friday Clar ence Gregg and others joined a five year first in five years gathering Forty attendees included Harry Weitzell Gladys Dunbar Clarence Peterson and families Harry Olson Fred Peterson and families A lawn dinner hosted by Mrs Cutler pleased descendants from children to great grandchildren and Mrs Moore and daughter Phyllis planned to stay a week.

Church Day Parade Draws Many LeGrand Residents in Marshalltown

Third annual church and bible school day drew about 35 floats from county churches. Top prize went to Marshalltown Presbyterian for The Last Supper. Second place to Stanford Liberty Bangor Friends for The Good Samaritan. Third to Central Church of Christ for The Crucifixion. A song service, park picnic, and a free King of Kings film followed. Garden Club Des Moines Trip Highlights Luthe and Bruner yards, Tree of Heaven, Paradise tree, petrified fern rocks, bird life displays, and a Greenwood Park picnic. The group planned a return visit.

Royal Neighbors birthday social honors June visitors

The Royal Neighbors gathered in their hall on Thursday evening June 10 for a June birthday social. Visiting members Mrs. Lester Hastings of Eleano California and Miss Lois Gaunt of Chicago were specially honored. The evening was spent socially with contests and merriment. refreshments were served by the committee.

State Fair to Stage Farm Rojo and Rodeo Events

The 1937 Iowa State Fair will feature a new three night bull fight by Juan Villa Gonzales with plans for four afternoon rodeo shows. Over 2,500 dollars in prizes beckon in bronc riding bulldogging calf roping steer wrestling and more. Nearly 100 entrants are expected making it a standout midwest rodeo event this season.

Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid at Dillon Anniversary

The Twenty-fifth anniversary program of the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid in Dillon featured devotional hymns prayers and an address with greetings from neighboring clergy and sisters. Officers include Rasmussen Kitzmann Wolken Rubenbauer Nuese and Kitamann. A buffet luncheon followed as Mrs Ernest Harem read Our Ladies Aid with a poem about faith love and service.

Temperance Legion Picnic Crowns Youth Leaders

The Loyal Temperance Legion held its annual picnic at Fred Peterson's home. After a covered dish supper, the year long national project ended with a crowning ceremony. Junior Dunham and Shirley Peterson were crowned King and Queen of Temperance for top work. second place went to Bobby Phipps and Frances Peterson. At least 200 points earned a pictured keepsake. Frances Erickson received special mention for near perfect attendance. Former members Wiletta Hilsabeck and Janet Long attended.
