The Friends Sunday School plans a quiet July 5 picnic at Mr Emnistt Rubenhaner’s grave. Attendees bring lunch baskets for a by lunch hour program and an afternoon of usual stunts. Miss Jenkie Hoover is expected, returning from four years in Jamaica.
LeGrand residents extend a hearty welcome as Herman Wolken buys property once home to J. Mote and wife. Wolken plans a modern residence facing the street east of the H. C. Herbert Home with construction to start soon. Nearby visits include Mrs Shoemaker in Marshalltown and lingering memories of local barber Poé.
