Lightning Strikes House Cause Porch Bracket Damage
A heavy Thursday forenoon shower saw a bolt of lightning strike the Cora Hoover residence. It damaged woodwork and likely traveled along the telephone wire, knocking a porch bracket loose before new fuses restored the light service. Miss Ray reported the bolt also damaged her electric ringer at the Central office.

Mr and Mrs E L Condon of Marshalltown were business call ers in LeGrand Friday. Dr and Mrs Roy C Helfenstein of Dover Delaware Mrs Isabelle Helfenstein and daughter Anna of Colfax made a brief stop here last Saturday returning to Colfax that same evening. Roy and his wife had been at a National Convention of Congregational and Christian churches at Beloit Wisconsin and took a week off to visit his people in Iowa.

Dunham Family Reunion Held at Riverview Park
The ninth annual Dunham descendants reunion met at Riverview park in Marshalltown with a 1 pm basket dinner and social time. Officers elected for the next year were Harold West president, Elizabeth Flynn vice president, Winifred Hildebrand secretary treasurer, Flossie Dunham reporter, and George Hildebrand refreshments chair. Attendees included Emma Ewald and Grace, Joan Dunham and children, Blanche West, Harold West and daughter Jean, Clara Russell and children, Hildebrand family members, and E. W. Dunham and others from LeGrand Montrou, Reinbeck, Mon tour, and Reinbeck area. Mrs Eward, 79, was the oldest attendee. Jeanette Russell, 5, the youngest.
