Manure Top Dressing for Wheat and Winter Barley

O T Coleman of the Missouri Codege of Agriculture advises using barn yard manure as a light winter top dressing on wheat or winter barley. Apply 3 to 5 tons per acre when ground is frozen or firm. Spread evenly with a manure spreader or by hand with a 45 degree tooth barrow to improve stand and reduce winter kill.
