The Royal Neighbors installed officers Tuesday evening with Oracle Margaret Mahle presiding and Christina Case as Vice Oracle. Other offices included Past Oracle Nora Dunham, Chancellor Rosa Richards, Recorder Ardella Richards, and several key roles. A social time followed with refreshments served by Ellen Holland and Anna Duncan.

Mrs. J C Hollingsworth 75 a Marshalltown resident died in her sleep last Saturday morning at home after a long life in Marshall county. She was born Carrie May Moler March 28 1863 and married Aug 30 1888. Survived by four of five children including Charles Hollingsworth and Helen Mertz, plus three sisters and two brothers, 19 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One son Fred died in an Nevada accident a few years ago.
Leonard E. Wines serves as pastor at LeGrand Friends Church. Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. Morning Worship at 11:00. Young People meet at 6:45 followed by Evening Service at 7:30. Choir practice Wednesday at 7:30. A proven fact quotes Dr. Henry C. Link about churchgoing families being happier.

Piano teacher Mildred L. Meltvedt presented twenty five of her pupils in a Friday recital at the Y M C A in Marshalltown. Participants included Marilyn Caldwell Betty Olson Lois Hartwell Mary Sawyer Maida Baumgardner Phyllis Rovner Margaret Evenson Faye Rovner Lillian Bailey Dorothy Olson and others as parents and friends observed. Favors were distributed by Miss Meltvedt in keeping with the holiday season.
