Death and Burial of Albert Pemberton

Albert H. Pemberton died about 8 o clock last Friday from pneumonia and heart disease after a long illness. Born January 18, 1861 in Jonesborough Indiana, he moved to Iowa in 1865 and lived near Hartland before settling in LeGrand. Survived by wife Mattie Hoover, son Roland, daughter Hannah Meltvedt, two granddaughters, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were at Friends church with burial in Friends cemetery. pallbearers were nephews Walter Hoover Clyde Hoover Charles Harvey Kenneth Pemberton Walter Weitzell and William Hoover.

Stangeland Retires From Marshall County Board

On January 1 O C Stangeland retires after nine years on the Marshall county board of supervisors. He served as chairman several times and leaves private life confident he did his best. His successor is B E Robinson from the Rhodes community, a farmer and man of affairs ready to represent Marshall county interests.

The Par ent-Teacher Association holds its regular meeting Tuesday evening at the high school with Chesla C Sherlock editor of the Marshalltown News as speaker.
