CLASS REUNION AT LeGRAND FRIENDS ACADEMY

The 1904 LeGrand Friends Academy class held its fifth mid winter reunion with Miss Bertha Louise Hammond as hostess. Attendees included Bertha Hammond Lottie Sanders C. E. Hoover O. W. Johnson with spouses, along with Marshalltown and Greenleaf residents. The gathering doubled as a wedding reception for C H Hoover and a surprise party for others. The event featured oyster stew at Van Horns and notes on ongoing class correspondence. Weather and ads fill the remainder of the issue as well as local sales and farm notices. The region experienced heavy snowfall and winter conditions with drifting roads and impassable sections following a Christmas snowfall.

LeGrand Iowa adopts pre fire precautions ordinance

The LeGrand town council enacts rules requiring that no stove pipe or metallic chimney flue pass through a roof, window, or house side without council permission.
