Peter Mahle Dies After Cancer Battle at Marseilles
Peter Mahle a well known Marseilles area farmer died Christmas night at his home after a October illness with stomach cancer. He was born in Stavanger Norway June 17 1862 and came to the United States in 1883. He leaves a large family of ten living in the locality along with fourteen grandchildren and siblings in Norway and Iowa. Funeral held December 27 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with burial in Riverside cemetery. Unrelated note reports Uncle Jordan Mote's broken hip and collar bone and grave condition.
