Old Settler S. T. Asher Dies at 77 in Quarry Area
S. T. Asher, a pioneer born in 1837 in Rushville Indiana, died after a fall led to blood poisoning and hand amputation. He lived in Marshall County since 1845, later moving to Tama County and Pierre South Dakota before returning to Quarry Iowa. He left three children Wilbur M. Asher HH. B. Asher and Mrs W L Dougherty. Funeral held at Brethren Church near Green Mountain.
