LeGrand defeated Garwin 55 to 27 in the Corn Belt League final at the Marshalltown Coliseum on Wednesday night earning the league crown and a $50 purse. Coach Lewis Dunham received praise for his leadership as LeGrand’s strong passing and inside play sealed the title despite Bears’ recent reinforcements.

Feature Game Tees Up LeGrand Collegiants Versus Bath Packing
The LeGrand Collegians, champions of the Corn Belt, will meet Bath Packing Company of Waterloo in a feature game at the Marshalltown coliseum on Saturday night February 7. The Raths hold twenty straight victories this year while the Collegians have thirteen consecutive wins. Game time is 9 p m with a 8 p m pregame. About 1500 seats will be filled, with 600 reserved. Waterloo will bring 200 and LeGrand city officials headed by Mayor Manship plan to attend. Buy tickets early for the expected rivalry.
