Go Down Bank at Timber Creek Auto Plunges Embankment
Frank Lewis and family of Garwin were returning from Marshalltown when their Oakland car skidded and toppled from a ten to fifteen foot embankment west of the M. & St. Louis railroad. Lewis suffered several broken ribs and serious injuries while his wife and ten year old son Ralph escaped with a severe shake. Dr. Mills reached the scene quickly and Lewis was rushed to Marshalltown hospital for surgical care. later reports said his injuries were less serious than feared though lungs were punctured by broken ribs, with recovery expected.
