The Iowa highway commission aims to widen main Iowa routes from 66 to 100 feet. Preliminary surveys are under way in Story county from Polk county pavement to Ames and beyond through Nevada Colo to the Marshall county line. Crews will assess right of way seventeen feet each side and widen the grade and shoulders after paving. Seven engineering teams operate statewide with Story county work centered in Nevada, and land purchase talks will begin soon.

Jacob W. Waggoner longtime Montour resident died on the westbound railroad tracks near the depot in LeGrand Iowa after alighting from No 29. Coroner Nichols reported possible heart failure or apoplexy. Survived by wife Laura Smith daughter Iva son B Waggoner and other relatives. Martin Ingebritson former Dunbar resident died at St Thomas hospital after a week long illness. Born in Norway February 15 1875 he came to the United States in 1889 later living near Round Lake Minnesota Dunbar and River Falls Wisconsin He married Hanna Hougland thirty five years ago leaving a large family including Mrs Marvin Jensen Hammond Wis Mrs Harold Wycoff Keokuk Henry Ingebritson Seattle Miss Ellen Ingebritson Minneapolis John Ingebritson Dunbar Bert Ingebritson 112 Anson St Marshalltown and Arthur Thorval and Frances with their mother in River Falls Two brothers Ole and Bert Ingebritson Dunbar survive He was a Dunbar church member Funeral services from the Dunbar church conducted by Rev J D Lee with a short service at home prior Burial in Dunbar cemetery Times Republican.
