The city reports completing six blocks and an intersection for under 10,000 dollars using seven inch reinforced concrete laid by municipalities without private contractors. Private bids reached 350 to 400 dollars for similar pavement, while local efforts claim savings and a new street paving plan for next spring drawing statewide attention.

Bills unpaid by that time are returned to our Marshall town office and posted as delinquent. Adelaide Tichy five year old daughter of Mr and Mrs F L Tichy died at St Thomas hospital from typhoid fever at 5 30 Tuesday morning She was buried in Pleasant Hill cemetery at LeGrand The funeral was held at the Christian church in LeGrand at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon conducted by Rev L B Follansbee Stephen C Holden longtime Montour resident died at his home at 5 o'clock Wednesday morning of hardening of the arteries He was born April 25 1851 in Jefferson County Pennsylva nia and moved to Pepin Wisconsin in 1853 He lived in Tama county forty three years He married Mary H Matter April 14 1878 Survived by wife two children Clair J Helden of Montour and Mrs E B Ferguson of Marion Township The funeral will be at the home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon.
Rev. Guy W. Harvey, Pastor hosts a 10 a.m. service with Margaret Hoover, Superintendent, preaching at 11 a.m. Contingent details reflect a community church routine.
Pasadena evangelist Tillman Hobson and his wife will start a series of meetings at the Friends church Sunday morning February 3. Hobson, former pastor of the Friends church in Whittier, comes from Kansas City and will travel directly from that engagement. The public is cordially invited.
The Christian Church schedules a 7 30 pm missionary program at the church next Tuesday with opening voluntary prayer song pageant How Tomy Came Out On Top and various readings and recitations. The week’s special meetings at the Friends Church lead to no evening services. A Friday afternoon missionary meeting is planned at Mrs J Piper’s home.

Mrs. Mary Sturtz entertained the Priscilla Circle on Wednesday afternoon. The Gordon Meltredt home quarantined for diphtheria. Gordon sick but improving. The Happy Hour Club of Dunbar welcomed guests Tuesday evening January 22 at the Tweed home. Delmar Latham hosted Mae King and daughter from Red Cloud Neb and Harold Perisho family Sunday.
