Des Moines reports cooperation between the state dairy and food department and the State Dairy association to run three dairy trains across Iowa. The first train will traverse the Illinois Central lines and run for two weeks, occupying the last two weeks of January. After that, date undetermined, daily specials will be sent over the Rock Island and Northwestern lines.
In Aredale Mason City, twenty miles south, a conflict arose over Walter Davis a respected Black man from Mason City who visited a white girl. The locals confronted him and gave fifteen minutes to leave town. eggs were hurled to enforce the ultimatum.
The Farmers Co operative Creamery company opened its new Gowrie plant this week with thirty five customers the first day and 00 pounds of butter churned from the first day's cream. Some professors from Ames attended the opening for inspection.
In Marshalltown the consecration service raised all but about $800 of the needed funds for the new Bethany United Brethren church. Bishop W. M. Weekley of Kansas City led the financial campaign and more than $2,000 was raised.

Cambridge resident Jacob Grossclose, a well known farmer, was found dead suspended from a rafter in the haymow of his barn. He was 50 years old and had been despondent for several days.
Seven year old Faith Kesey daughter of Rev. H A Kesey and Esther Nelson also seven drowned near the bridge at New Hartford when they broke through the ice. Authorities investigated but details remain sparse. Neighbors aided in the search and recovery efforts.

Sheriff Campbell reports local youth Thomas B. Oskinson has made a written confession to the murder of Officer Gerisher of Muscatine. Campbell visited the jail with the boy's mother and quoted the confession as guilty.
Peter Howe of Estherville Peter Howe of Montgomery, once missing after an automobile fall about three weeks ago, has been located in Sioux City in fair physical health but with severe amnesia. He does not recall his identity or how he arrived there.
Prof A V Storm of the state college at Ames arrives as advance agent for Scott Jackson and Clinton counties. He says the college expects this to be the biggest short course yet held in Iowa and will be hosted here this week.
Word from Washington announces the promotion of Captain Frank Pletcher of Marshalltown to rear admiral in the United States Navy. Pletcher has thirty seven years of service and graduated from the Naval Academy in 1874.
The Farmers' Co-operative store in Tabor will begin lumber sales with the new year and has already secured about 2000 in stock subscriptions, with expected total subscriptions to reach 4000.
Panic grips Paton as scarlet fever spreads prompting city council to close public schools theaters and churches. Officials declare quarantine until precautions are lifted.
