Funeral services for Thomas Thompson in Stavanger meeting house

Thomas Thompson died November 19 at Cedaredge Colorado after a short heart illness. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 PM at the Stavanger meeting house near Dunbar with Rev. P G Dennis officiating. Burial followed at Stavanger cemetery. He was born February 20 1855 in Roldal Norway. He emigrated in 1869 settling near LeGrand for 25 years before moving to Cedaredge. He married Hilda Enge and had four children two of whom died in infancy and daughter Hazel Jackson died earlier in Cedaredge. Surviving are son Roy Thompson and brother Thore Thompson of Cedaredge. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

W C T U Institute Held At Trossem Home

The W C T U Institute met Tuesday at the Trossem home with good attendance. President Mrs. Fredrick son led the business and program. Mrs. Condon led devotionals. Speakers included Mrs. Estes from Green Mountain and others. The day ended with benediction and a covered dish noon dinner.

Literary and Musical Club Plans Christmas Program

The Literary and Musical Club met on December 2 to package thirty seven boxes of cookies and popcorn for local service members. Thanks were given to outside volunteers. refreshments were provided by Mrs. Leland Keen and Mrs. Gordon Mertvedt. The next two meetings will be combined for a Christmas program on December 16. members will donate dimes to the Salvation Army instead of gifts.
