Butlerville man killed in saw mill accident
Ed Linhart died Friday afternoon when a log rolled onto him at a saw mill on the Tommy Miles place northeast of Butlerville. Leon Flynn tried to help and Coroner Harvey Jones said death was accidental. funeral services were held in Tama. Linhart, a Tama resident since 1915, left a widow Anna Musch and two children, Melvin and Lester, with Melvin aged 16. He is survived by three brothers, Joe, Charles and Fred, of Tama area.

Sheep Killers at Work In Rural Sunday Incident
Chester Tweet woke to dogs chasing sheep in the south sheep lot. A Chow devoured a Hamp shire lamb before Tweet shot the dog, leaving one dog dead. Tweet filed a county claim for lamb loss and identified Mrs Omer Manship and children visiting Gilman as relatives.

Young People Wed in Grundy Center Nuptials
Miss Neva Cooper daughter of Mr and Mrs Clyde Cooper Toledo and Norman Dunham son of Mr and Mrs Charles Dunham Montour were married at the Grundy Center First Presbyterian church. A 6:30 dinner followed at the bride’s parents home with pink and white decorations. The couple will live on a farm south of Montour after December 1. Puff Ball Curio Found Near County Quarry
A giant puff ball weighing 7 ounces and measuring a 3 foot circumference was brought to the Reporter by W. M. Gaunt. Found growing in timber near the county quarry north of town by the old mill site. If the high school authorities deem it worthy it may join the curio case.

Two New Luxurious Streamline Trains For Coast Runs
Southern Pacific Chicago & Northwestern and Union Pacific announce two new light weight streamline trains to run between Chicago and San Francisco and Chicago and Los Angeles. The "City of Los Angeles" and "City of San Francisco" will cost 33 000 000 and feature 17 cars each with 900 horsepower Diesel engines and 5100 horsepower total. Construction at Pullman Chicago and Electro-Motive Chicago with delivery in early 1987.
