Young couple wed in candlelit LeGrand ceremony

Miss Lillian Alden and Tilman Wesley Harem exchanged vows at the bride’s parents home near LeGrand in a 6:30 Thursday ceremony attended by about 50 relatives. Rev. Guy Harvey presided. The couple will reside near LeGrand after Harem completes work at a garage project.

LeGrand Stars Top Marshalltown Selections In Two Close Wins

Thanksgiving basketball featured two LeGrand teams of former high school stars defeating Marshalltown outfits Meeker’s Laundry and Coast to Coast. Coast to Coast looked like last year’s Lamoille squad with Yordy, but LeGrand prevailed in both games by slim margins. Christmas party planned for Mission Circle in Green Mountain

Miss Betty Gaunt visited Green Mountain on turkey day while teacher Wilma Gaunt left for Chicago to see Lois Gaunt at Augustana hospital. Mrs. L. C. Blodgett returned from a two week visit with her mother in Ft. Madison. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Swenson and children joined a family reunion at Ole Seim's place near Miss Wilma Gaunt. The Mission Circle met Friday November 26 with Mrs. Ray Duncan as hostess and discussed Out of Africa. The next meeting is December 25 a Christmas party with Mrs. J. W. Piper and Mrs. George Coffin in charge.
