Electric light changes contemplated in LeGrand service
The county capital reports planned shifts in LeGrand electrical delivery. A transformer station will move near the overhead bridge south of town with 18 000 volt feed to LeGrand from 38 000, stepped down to 23800 then to 110 and 220 through local transformers. The LeGrand Elevator Co plans a new motor wired in during the upgrade for better service, especially in distant areas.

Farm House Burns North of Green Mountain
A farm dwelling on the Jos Reed farm one mile north of Green Mountain burned Tuesday evening. Wayne Reed and family escaped with most possessions saved. Loss estimated near 5000 dollars with 2000 dollars covered by insurance. Fire origin believed to be in wall between two chimneys. War relics from France and much clothing in closets were lost. A nearby wood house was wrecked to stop spread of flames. Marian Mills of Ames visited over the weekend.
