Twedt is son of Mr and Mrs R M Twedt of San Diego Route 8 and former Grossmont Union High School salesman before enlisting in 1942.
The regular W C T U meeting Tuesday included Mrs John Peek with six members and three guests. Vera Fredrickson led the program after a Scripture lesson and Bible verse readings. The Union Signal music and a radio broadcast on station KXEL closed the session with the Lord's Prayer. The LeGrand Garden Club gathered Monday night at Mr and Mrs L G Knuds with 21 attending. A Myrtle tree specimen from South Carolina was shown. Members shared drying recipes for corn and apples. In contests, Ankrum won first in A floral love story. Anna Duncan and L C Knudson won first in the jumbled word contest. J F Rylander spoke on summer lawn care. Visitors from Marshalltown and Waterloo called on I M Gaunt Sunday evening.
LeGrand Friends Church led by Pastor John H. Hadley offers morning services and Sunday School at 10 a.m. followed by worship at 11. The Christian Church under Minister Sarah M. Piper provides church school at 10 a.m. and a preaching service at 11 a.m. with a welcoming message for all.
