Pioneer Woman Dies at 76 in Le Grand Area
Rebecca O Neal, 76, long-time Le Grand resident, died Sunday at 11 15 am at her sister Mrs A A Moores home after a weeklong illness of pneumonia and heart trouble. Born Rebecca Dunn Sept 2 1844 in Warren County Ohio she came to Iowa in 1855. She married James O Neal Feb 18 1885 and lived in Le Grand until 1898 then returned to the farm. Funeral at Pleasant Hill Cemetery Tuesday at 11 am with Rev J W Piper and Rev P E Shalt officiating. Burial followed with pallbearers and floral attendants named. Distance relatives included Mrs Sidney Brown of Chicago and others from Marshalltown and Chicago.
