Pioneer Woman Dies at 76 in Le Grand Area

Rebecca O Neal, 76, long-time Le Grand resident, died Sunday at 11 15 am at her sister Mrs A A Moores home after a weeklong illness of pneumonia and heart trouble. Born Rebecca Dunn Sept 2 1844 in Warren County Ohio she came to Iowa in 1855. She married James O Neal Feb 18 1885 and lived in Le Grand until 1898 then returned to the farm. Funeral at Pleasant Hill Cemetery Tuesday at 11 am with Rev J W Piper and Rev P E Shalt officiating. Burial followed with pallbearers and floral attendants named. Distance relatives included Mrs Sidney Brown of Chicago and others from Marshalltown and Chicago.

Notice in district court of Iowa Liscomb land dispute

The district court of Iowa in Marshall county September term 1520 hears a petition by Janes E. Gallup and co plaintiffs against multiple defendants claiming ownership of lots ten through sixteen in block five Liscomb. The filing names numerous heirs and claimants in various capacities and requests adjudication of ownership and rights in the described real estate. The defendants named and unnamed are notified that the petition is filed in the clerk’s office of the Marshall county court.

Quieting Title Suit In Liscomb IowaAdverse Possession Claim

In Marshall county Iowa on September 6 1920 a district court in Lowain Marshall county will hear a petition by Christien Church and others seeking to quiet and confirm title to real estate. The suit asserts twenty years of actual open notorious exclusive uninterrupted peaceable adverse possession under color of title and requests an order decreeing ownership to the plaintiff and barring all defendants from any interest. Defendants are notified to appear by noon of the second day of the next September term or face default and judgment.
