Obituary for Mrs. Fannie Mertka of Quarry

Mrs. Fannie Mertka, 71, wife of Anton Mertka and longtime Quarry resident, died after a paralytic stroke. Born in Bohemia April 24, 1844, she emigrated with her husband and lived in Quarry for forty years. Survived by husband, son Louis, four daughters, and two half brothers. Funeral held from the home with burial in Pleasant Hill cemetery. Also memorial verses published in the Times-Republican.

Annual Church Meeting and Officers Election

The annual church meeting of the Christian church will be held Aug 12, 1915. Program includes song selected invocation readings by Bessie McGarel Mrs S R Piper and Mrs P M Paulson roll call of members and annual election of church and Sunday School officers. LeGrand visitors Martin Rubenbauer family of Dillon and various local acquaintances noted. a farewell gathering for Rev and Mrs G R Hammond at the Christian parsonage ended with thanks and gifts.
