Needle in Foot From Quarry Girl Serious But Now Recovering

Miss Leona Dougherty of Quarry suffered a needle wound in the foot last week. A fragment remained, causing swelling until Dr. Southwick removed it with X ray aid. Tetanus serum was given as a precaution and the patient is recovering. The report notes nearby events and notices from LeGrand and area towns.

Newton Boys Visit LeGrand Camp on River North of Town

About twenty five YMCA Juniors rolled into LeGrand Thursday morning bound for a week long camping experience under elder supervision. The camp sits near the Jos Haynes place by a spring in timber, with marked routes from Newton to the site for easy following. Homecoming for LeGrand is set for August 17 18.

Hampshire Ball Team Scores Again in Tight Win

Hampshire ball club clawed back Tuesday to upset Beaman through grit and timely hits. Substitutes Manship Rylander and Stafford sparked the offense as Pemberton left with a finger injury. The Beaman crew, playing short and bold, kept the game close, while LeGrand’s lineup battled for position in the league standings and its hitter’s early sparks led to a hard-fought victory.
