Poweshiek County Lad Involved In Lincoln Highway Crash
A stranger informed the Sidwell family that the driver who struck Frank Sidwell on the Lincoln Highway was known and gave the car number. Sheriff Meekins arrested 19 year old D Miller, son of Mrs Dolly Daflin, who confessed. Judge Tankersley revoked Miller's license for three years. bond set at 500 dollars. Case continued thirty days pending Sidwell’s injuries and damages.

Auto Collision Shakes LeGrand Workers
Sunday night a car accident near the Twelfth Avenue crossing shook LeGrand workers Ray Young timekeeper for the LeGrand Stone Company and C H Schanck from the quarries. The Ford they rode in stalled and was struck by a Brooklyn driver E Busch. Schanck was thrown from the vehicle but suffered no broken bones. Both cars were damaged with no serious injuries reported.

Allie Morrison of Marshall town visited recently seeking raspberries and recalled boyhood in LeGrand when berry work dominated. Will Olney Thompson employed about twenty boys on four acres by the parsonage. they pulled weeds for 40 cents a day, 10 hours, until Allie Morrison and Louis Dale led a higher pay demand. Thompson raised wages to keep the crew, and work resumed smoothly.

Carpentry to build four cabins starts Friday to provide dry quarters. daily schedule includes reveille, flag, swimming, athletic games, and campfire. Several locals and relatives are noted visiting, traveling to the Amana colony, Rochester, and northern Minnesota for trips, health visits, or camping expeditions.
