A sand hill crane, shot on the Coon river by Henry Ackers, nearly blinded him when the revived bird attacked as he carried it toward town. The fight left Ackers with severe eye injuries and a bloody, torn face, the crane finally subdued after a savage struggle.

Boy Bitten by Bulldog in Nashua Yard Attack
