Natural gas pipeline promoted through Tama county farms

In Tama county, Amarillo men viewed leases along the highway past the Banks place while Thomval Thompson noted maps showing a proposed gas line. The plan envisions routes away from trees and buildings and aims from Waterloo northeast past the Northwestern railroad. Farmers reportedly favor the project, and it appears likely to become reality.

Literary and Musical Club guest day at LeGrand

The Literary and Musical club held their annual guest day Wednesday with about fifty seven ladies attending. A varied program featured piano duet by Gaunt and Harvey, readings by lander and Johnson, and songs by Rogers and Johnson. A telegram writing contest awarded first prize to Mrs Van Shope and humorous prize to Mrs Allie Gibson. A two course luncheon used an Eastern egg centerpiece. The meeting on April 6 will be hosted by Mrs Leland Keen.

High School Gazette Notes Spring Activities and Events

Six weeks tests are scheduled this week and senior play practice has begun with the first session Monday night. The junior-senior banquet is being planned, a seniorsponsored skating party at Le Grand rink drew 44 attendees, and music contest selections are rehearsed under Miss Miller for an April 8 event.

Meeting of Protest Over Railroad Service Cuts

Citizens gathered at the Reporter office to discuss the cutting off of the railroad agent and reduced service by the North Western railroad. The meeting, driven by livestock shippers and local residents, signaled broad dissatisfaction and planned a committee to pursue the issue.

Easter program enhances morning worship at church

Worthy Candidate for Office of Trust

Ralph B. Miller of Taylor township announces his candidacy for county auditor in the June Republican primaries. A farmer and Shorthorn breeder born in Marshalltown in 1883, he served in the 180th Infantry during World War I, overseas with the British and in both Meuse Aronne and Somme fronts, then the army of occupation in Luxembourg. Miller led Albion American Legion post and Marshall County Legion, chaired Taylor township school board, and heads the local citizens reconstruction group. he is married with two children.

Star Route Bids Sought for Tama Grundy Center Link

Toledo postmaster F C MacClaskey announced a temporary star mail route bid to operate six days a week between Tama and Grundy Center serving Tama Toledo Traer Reinbeck Morrison and Grundy Center. The route covers about 49.9 miles round trip with morning departure from Tama at 9 30 and arrivals at Grundy Center at 11 30, returning at 11 45 arriving Tama at 1 30.
