House Action On Bill Expands Target Range Funds
A bill to let private groups tap a federal tax fund for target ranges faces a House vote. The NRA could qualify to use state matching funds for ranges in New Mexico as it builds a $38 million outdoor center, with plans for five ranges and youth programs. The measure, authored by Rep. John Dingell, would require states to spend part of excise tax revenue on hunter safety and ranges or allow nonprofits to receive the funds.
