A 66-year-old retiree, Melvin W. Murphy, has been missing since Wednesday after leaving a friend's home to drive to his own house. Police describe a red pickup with white trim, 5 foot 9, 180 pounds, grey hair and blue eyes, last seen in a blue and white plaid shirt. His wife says he had no reason to leave and has never disappeared before.
