Victory story of three pilots in eight minute air battle
The narrative recalls a brief air duel where three American pilots faced enemy MIGs in eight fiery minutes. Cmdr Cagle, a Navy Cross recipient, notes only one or at most five MIGs broke home while all three Americans survived. The pilots later questioned MIG tactics and Eisenhower, visiting Seoul in December 1952, sought their views on aircraft warfare. Eisenhower reportedly invited the pilots to his private suite and offered them a drink.
