Farm export surge seen to top 20 billion this year
United States farm exports are forecast to reach about 20 billion dollars in the current fiscal year ending June 30, a roughly 55 percent rise from last year. Grains led by wheat corn and soybeans continue strong demand with Europe and Japan remaining key buyers as Russia and China contribute less to the rise. Authority notes that Japan remains the single largest market with 2.3 billion in the prior year and Western Europe at 4.5 billion, though current figures for the year are not broken out yet.
