Ousted Engineer Strikes Back Over Oklahoma Toll Roads
Bailey, a former turnpike manager now with DeLeuw Cather, accuses Gov Gary of public support for toll roads while opposing them in policy. He says Gary fired DeLeuw Cather from the southwest toll road project and claims toll road financing would reach 30 million dollars in fees by Gary’s exit. Bailey, surveying a Tulsa to McAlester toll route, contends Gary’s stance on tolls clashes with past positions and discusses bonds to fund part of the route, estimating 20 to 25 million dollars for the southern segment.
