Las Vegas Signs Glow as Electric Workers Maintain Bright Skyline
In Las Vegas, electric sign crews roam city streets at night with ladders wires and thousands of bulbs to keep casino hotel signs boiling with light. Officials estimate five million bulbs and nearly 100 miles of neon power the gambling capital as signs compete for height brightness and spectacle. Stardust claims tallest at 188 feet with 400 tons of concrete and 40 000 bulbs and 10 000 tubes operated by 27 lighting sequences.
