Thunderstorms soak Southwest Oklahoma causing flood watches
Thunderstorms dumped five inches or more across parts of Southwest Oklahoma triggering flash flood watches. The National Weather Service warned of more rain tonight and Tuesday with a 40 percent chance of precipitation. Heavy rainfall topped 5.45 inches at Marlow while Vinson and Hobart logged near four inches. Lawton and nearby lakes received over two inches with Lake Lawtonka and Lake Ellsworth falling several feet. Farmers welcomed the soaking as a boon for seedbed prep and potential regrowth of grasses.
