Ace POW: DeBellevue Scores Fifth MIG Kill in Vietnam Sky
Air Force ace Capt. Charles D. DeBellevue earned his fifth MIG kill aboard a F4D Phantom with Capt. John Madden Jr. near Hanoi. He received the Air Force Cross and the Distinguished Flying Cross with oak leaves, saying the crew, not the medals, mattered. His partner Capt. Richard S. Ritchie had become the first Air Force ace earlier, with both pilots emphasizing teamwork.
