Capital Improvements Tied To Sales Tax Proposal
Lawton residents consider a proposed two cent city sales tax to fund capital upgrades. Key targets include water and sewer systems, streets, landfill, recreation facilities, an airport hangar, and more. If approved, the five year levy would start Nov. 1 and raise about 750 000 annually with 70 000 set aside in the 1976 77 budget for capital projects.
