Teen sentenced to die for stomping elderly widow to death

A 16 year old boy, Frank Ross Jr., was sentenced to death by electric chair for the November 15 1976 murder of 64 year old Helen Dixon in Avon Park Florida. The same jury had convicted him of first degree murder in February and recommended the death penalty after a brief 17 minute deliberation. An automatic appeal will follow. Ross’s co defendant James Wells 17 was found guilty and given life in prison.
