Commissioners Eye Solution to Agency Salary Dilemma
Comanche County commissioners seek a Monday meeting with Associate District Judge Chad Bledsoe over his order setting a $70,126.80 salary for seven juvenile bureau employees and the Marie Detty Youth Service Center director. The board argues state law allocates budget control to the excise board and faces a conflict in this unique setup involving state welfare funds and county budgeting. Meanwhile residents demanding action to curb crime on the Strip area plead for more sheriff’s department funds, but the board says the current budget is exhausted and cannot add payroll.
