A feasibility study on widening and deepening East Cache Creek to correct floodplains will be submitted to the City Council at 9 30 a m Friday. Mayor Wayne Gilley warns downstream damage suits could derail support if heavier flooding may occur west of Lawton. The project’s legal and financial risks trace to past flood problems and the city’s responsibility for borrow pits and channel changes.
