Two Army privates from the 3rd Aviation Operating Detachment were tried for aiding and abetting an AWOL in a drowning hoax at Lake Lawtonka last August. Pvt Ronald L Williams, 19, admitted faking the drowning and traveled to Hialeah Florida, where he was arrested after a nationwide civilian and military search.

A 12-pounder bronze Napole on gun used by Union artillery in 1862 will be emplaced at Fort Sill Museum at 10 am Friday. It honors Col. Henry C. Larter Jr. and was donated by Rocky Ford, Colorado. A Civil War field carriage was built from U S Army plans by the Department of Corrections industries division. The Larter Gun will be on a raised dial in the Civil War section of Hamilton Hall.

Nine villagers near a firing range three miles north of Seoul were killed and nine injured when an Honest John rocket misfired during scrap collection. The Army had warned them to leave and cited trespassing as the cause.

Early this morning three armed robberies and an attempted hijacking were reported, all possibly by the same bandit wearing a face covering. The hijacker escaped with about 80 to 85 dollars, a second station yielded 90 dollars, and a motel office confrontation occurred at 2 05 a.m. Police described the suspect as male, with a gray jacket and green checked shirt, using a small pistol.
