New Auto Bumper Demonstrated To Senate Panel
Senator Hart witnessed tests on a bright red Hornet showing a high impact bumper device. Paul Taylor and son Doug claim their shock absorber style bumper protects occupants and urges DOT to speed up next year models. They offer the device at 5.60 dollars per unit, while automakers warn bumper rules could raise prices.

Hunt Accepts Senate Motion for Investigation of Insurance Office
Oklahoma City AP State Insurance Commissioner Joe B Hunt says he would welcome Senate approval of an inquiry into his office. Sen John Young of Diaplupa introduced a resolution seeking an in depth look at ties to the insurance industry and a $7800 loan Hunt received from a United Founders subsidiary. Young cites Mafia claims and notes a 18 million receivership action Hunt filed last year against United Founders, later dismissed after an independent audit found solvency by more than 5 million. Officials testified a subsidiary held an unpaid mortgage note by Hunt. The resolution also references Gov. Hall aide Gerald Barton formerly United Founders chairman and stockholder.
