Mets Ace Pitcher Ok After Line Drive Head Injury
Memories of Herb Score resurfaced as Jon Matlack of the Mets took a line drive to the head from Atlanta’s Marty Perez. Matlack, 23, remained conscious with no fracture or concussion, though he spent the night in hospital for observation after the seventh inning scare in a 10-4 loss. Perez expressed shock at the mishap, while Mets doctor Dr Peter LaMotte confirmed no serious injury.
