Rogers To Brief Senate On Middle East Policies
Secretary of State William P. Rogers will brief the Senate on Nixon era Middle East policy after meetings with Egypt’s Ashraf Ghorbal and prior talks with Israeli Foreign Minister Abba Eban. Mansfield notes it may be first such session since World War II. The discussion covers potential force, security guarantees, and the 1967 boundaries amid Arab-Israeli disputes.

Stock Market Slump Deepens Amid Profit Taking
The stock market entered a fifth straight session in heavy activity with the Dow Jones average down 4.04 to 895.33 at noon. Analysts cited a drop below 900 yesterday for the first time since March 12 and noted continued profits taking as the economy’s slow recovery dampens sentiment. The decline hit many sectors while Boeing and other big names showed notable losses. Oklahoma farm prices and cattle bids also reflected active trading with varied gains and losses across grains, hogs, and livestock.
