Four Area Men Enlist in Army Through Local Station
Four southwest Oklahoma men enlisted in the Army through the recruiting station. MSSgt Bill Bradley announced. Clarence Wayne Bartram and Clifton L Morgan enlisted for three years under the buddy system and will stay in the same unit through basic training. Two more joined the Army reserves for eight years and will have months of active duty. Fred Lb Elis Alberta Elkins Snyder and Thomas Harrod will report to Fort Bliss Texas.

Armored Cavalry Volunteers Sought for Europe Deployment
A limited number of vacancies will fill the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment from volunteers in the Fourth Army area over the next three months. MSgt. Bill Bradley, local recruiter, said the unit at Fort Meade Md is slated for reassignment to Europe this summer under the Army unit rotation program. Enlistments are for three years and limited to prior service men.
