Weightman says we let them down at Walter Reed
Former Walter Reed commander Maj. Gen. George W. Weightman, fired March 1, says he did not hear cries for help and that failures in leadership and staff size worsened outpatient care. He cites desk maze, drafts era boards, and waning war support as factors while defending his focus on treating wounded soldiers and families.
