City Budget Gaps Narrowed by Tax Gains and Cuts
City finance figures show water revenue coming in 2.5 percent under the $2.8 million budget and sewer rate changes last year. Despite projected growth in sales tax, receipts stand 11 percent short of the monthly income needed for a $1.5 million goal, though two percent sales tax gains and federal anti recession funds offset losses. City manager Metzinger says expenditures are being held down to keep revenues on track.
