Gls Pay Airport Users Tax Same As All Others
Washington reports that U S soldiers on leave from Vietnam must pay a $3 airport tax on their tickets under the Airport and Airways Revenue Act. The Pentagon says the charge funds airport improvements and is a lawful user fee. Congress notes no exemption is planned. Flights home to the United States include Pan American, World Airways and Trans International, with typical fares cited from Saigon to several U S cities.
