Walters 4-H Club Members Win Prizes at Temple Meet
Walters 4-H Club members from seventh through eighth grade competed in a Temple identification contest. Participants included Meiba Simpson Janie Jackson Patty Flanafar Frances Priddy Irene Pittman Sharon Robertson Moa Deattra Martin Karen Brown Carrie Hart Joan Fletcher Avanell Hooker and Adam Sperling. Avanell Hooker placed seventh, Karen Brown eighth, and Jean Fletcher ninth. Sponsor is Mrs. Louise Livingston.
Body Of Missing Child Found In Perry Cistern
A 11 year old boy, Tommy Dail, was found drowned in a cistern near his Perry home after an 11 hour search by over 2,000 residents. Officials reported no foul play. Firemen, deputies, and utility workers helped search from Friday evening.

Four Tillman County 4-H girls will take part in the state junior livestock show meat quality judging and identification contest in Oklahoma City. Linda Todd Laing Erla Ann Hazel Frederick Barbara Sherman and Sharon Bigewell Hollister will identify fifty retail cuts and judge meat quality for reasons. The top team will advance to regional judging at the American Royal in Kansas City next October and receive a plaque. Funeral Rites for Mrs Mellie Bell Held in Cement
Mrs Mellie Bell 55 of Cement died in a Chickasha hospital after lingering illness. Born Sunset Texas she moved to Oklahoma in 1903 and married J W Bell in 1919. Survived by husband two daughters four grandchildren and many Sewell and related relatives. Funeral rites are pending at Chickasha funeral home.
