Mushroom recall covers 6000 cases nationwide
The FDA announced a nationwide recall of 6000 cases of Fred's Fresh Grown Sliced Whole Mushrooms due to bacterial contamination. About 500 cases with 24 4-ounce cans remain in wholesale and retail channels after a recall began February 22. No deadly botulism evidence found. earlier 8000 cases from United Canning Corp. were recalled for botulism.
