Fire raises concern over dry conditions and tanker needs
Fire officials describe dry weather as a priority risk and note the county uses a water tanker for road projects and firefighting. With no heated barn, the county drains the tanker to prevent freezing and relies on the Meers unit for rapid response. Officials seek a heated, larger tanker and ongoing support for a fleet expansion. The piece also mentions plans to expand classrooms and labs, improve conference and training facilities, and repair campuses to handle rising enrollment from BRAC and growth factors.

County approves merger of emergency operations with Lawton
Comanche County commissioners on Monday agreed to merge county emergency management with the City of Lawton. The plan splits funding evenly, with both sides covering half the budget, and places the combined agency under county control in the basement of the Comanche County Courthouse. The merger could take effect by mid month, a change from the 2002 city‑formed operation.
