The piece contrasts widespread shortages with growing housing construction and lists Moscow prices for common goods. It notes a private room goal by 1965, high prices for food and consumer items, and the paradox of queues amid reform. It also references Stalin’s tomb and Khrushchev’s relativizing view of Stalin’s legacy.
